Loading of JPEG files with option ICC profile

Post by sergo »

Loading of JPEG files with option ICC profile turned on is extremly slow.

By the way - what about icc profiles in other file formats, for example in tiff? Will it be available in release?

First, a screenshot to show that ICC option works and is great... :P
(Left=OFF, Right=ON)
Image
(thanks to Phoebe for the samples)

Suggestions:
- Apply ICC conversion to thumbnails as well
- (I believe conversion is to sRGB display?) ...then skip sRGB->sRGB conversion: it won't slow down XnView
- If above works, makes ICC=ON the default setting

ICC conversion should also work for TIFF and even JPEG2000 and PNG => Pierre, I send you some JPEG/TIFF/PNG samples in sRGB and AdobeRGB for the same picture.

Pierre, what's the status on all this for 1.90?

Wow... thank you, Pierre! :D

I suppose "skipping sRGB->sRGB" is not implemented and we shouldn't think about turning 'ICC' option ON by default for now?
