Exif time correction misses some files

Post by bdforever »

Hi,
I have a directory with 2500+ pictures, all from the same camera.
When marking all files and the applying a time correction, Xnview only changes the headers in the first half of the files. The others remain unchanged.
No error message is given.

Yes, all Jpeg come from the same camera, and they're intact. Another program did the conversion without problem.
It might be that XN does not 'see' all the files. In this particular directory I had 2500+ pictures which might be too much.
And I also downloaded the most recent version before I tried that. It seems to be repeatable on my PC.
If it helps you, I could do some more tests or send you the pics via Rapidshare...

Similar result here. 508 out of 1500 updated (identical jpg, v.1.95.4, wine v.1).

A squatter ?

:) Hello B. !

• I can't test such a handling, but I thought to a similar issue I encountered a long while ago
when building a multipage TIFF from a lot of ICOs.
- Among these ICOs, I had a damned descript.ion text file where the TIFF building stopped always !
- Hence, my TIFF contained only the part of the selected ICO files before the "squatter"…
- Maybe is there a non-image file too ? :?:

I just included a text file in the mix (renaming it test_0218.jpg). It was skipped over and didn't throw a wrench into the gears. There seems to be a limit.

no, only jpg's in my directory...

I once had a problem that XNview would not show all the pics in one directory, though they were visible in the Explorer. I did not follow up, but it might have the same cause like the actual problem
