32bit cursors are not recognized as cursor files
32bit cursors (E.g. default cursor files in in Windows Vista) are not recognized as cursor files (Windows Cursor Image) in browser. Though XnView displays the cursor files correctly.
Also 32bit animated cursor files are recognized correctly in browse, but are displayed without transparency.

Hello
• This is an ooolllld issue, not Vista spécific. It's so for ages……Animated cursor files in Vista are recognized correctly in browse, but are displayed without transparency.

Right, the problem is not Vista specific. I worded my post wrong.
What I meant was that the problem happens with .cur and .ani files that ship with Vista (aka 32bit .cur and .ani files).
Windows has support for 32bit .cur and .ani files since Windows 2000 so calling them as vista cursors was not so right either.
First post edited accordingly.

Again…
• Well, thank you for the wording correction. Anyway, not only the 32 BPP *.ANI and *.CUR are not properly displayed…
- Just test any *.CUR, and you'll see what happens…
- The *.ANI 32 BPP are supported in XP, it's right (I never had a Win 2K here).
• As a workaround, you could use GFIE to deal with these files, all colour depths and transparency are nicely supported…
… and you can edit¦change¦create such cursors (plus animated GIFs !) *
• That doesn't work correctly in the XnView MP version either…
For instance, a 32 BPP ANI shows wrong colours and the frames timing is ignored…
• My last post in the French thread is dated July, 31, 2008…
So, feel free to add the count of minutes to the old shown one till today
(…I'll see when I've some minutes, Pierre said… He has samples I sent).
SIGH…

Pierre.
Ok, 32bit cursor recognizing in browser is fixed in XnView 1.96 beta4 and even the 32bit ani files are displayed little better.
But, I noticed that 32bit cursors are not shown on folder thumbnails.
Also, I didn't notice this with beta3, but the colors on the 32bit ani files are wrong. Sample ani files should be blue, but are displayed red in XnView. And the aero_unavail.cur cursor file has wrong color too in beta4, but in beta3 the color was ok.

Re: 32bit cursors are not recognized as cursor files
Just installed 1.96.5 and am having problems with an ANI and CUR file. The ANI file is displayed in false colors, and the CUR file has transparency disabled.
download files in question
Also, is there a way to save/export as either of these formats?
