On the XnView website it suggests that XnView can read xif files. I've used Pagis Pro for scanning documents for several years and have accumulated zillions of documents in the Pagis xif format. Pagis, however, is not compatible with Vista and I need a reader for these files.
Is there an add-on for XnView or am I missing something? When I try to open a xif file with XnView I get an error message "TIFF: Bad data compression algorithm!"
I know xif is a modified TIFF, but it's a great format and text/graphics are compressed better (in 4 distinct layers), so one does not have to sacrifice either.
How can I get XnView to open xif files?

I have found this page by using Google. I don't know whether it will work or not because I don't have any .xif files.
