Add Date Stamp

Post by paulba »

A lot of the new camera's do not have date stamps on the pictures.

Sometimes it is a requirement.

A feature , in the batch conversions, to put a date/time stamp on the pictures using lossless compression with the date/time information obtained from the EXIF data (if available) or creation time would be fantastic

Thanks

For file with or without exif.

Just to clarify, I would like an option to make a date/time stamp on the picture itself.
I need to be able to print the pictures and have the date on the print, mostly for legal reasons, so an option to embed the date/time information would be great.

The date/time information should come from the exif data or if there isn’t any then the creation date.

thanks

Here's a couple of examples of applications that do what I am suggesting.

A graphical application:

A command line application:

Thanks for your time.

Check 'Batch Convert' (from Menu>Tool or contextual Menu on a selection), with 'Add text' transformation: use the >> symbol for parameters (suggestion: EXIF Image>Date Taken... and date modifiers to get exactly what you want).

Thanks Oliver, That gets me started.

The option still needs to be more visual so that you dont have to keep trying over and over to get the right position, font and font size.
