extract alpha

Post by overFlo »

hi there! thanks for supplying us all with this great tool for free.
one question:
is there a way to extract the alpha channel from a tiff file and save it as a jpeg? i know how to look at the alpha (m), but i have no idea how to save it.
i tried with nconvert but there seems to be no switching channels there as well. or let me put it this way: can i map the alpha channel to rgb and save it as a jpeg? or just to one of the color channels?

cheers and thanks,
flo
