Post by striker »

hey, i having into a little trouble with viewing some images, it appears that xnview, nor any other free tool i could find can't view AOL-art images. is there any possible solution to salvage or view these images other than re-installing AOL, ugh i had such a hard time uninstalling it to begin with... :P perhaps one of the developers could dig in the specs of this format for compatility?

Art files from AOL are in a proprietary format, so not possible to read

not to ask for too much could it be possible to reverse inengineer them?. i believe it's legal as long as it's for compatibility purpose, which it is. thats how REAL, WMA and other proprierity formats are widely supported today..

if you did happen to get aol images to work in another manner without having me install aol, i'd greatly appreciate it. :P

that is if you had time to do so, i'm sure you could.. but adding support for aol would be great for me, and possibility a small minority, and make xnview just that much better, but wouldn't matter for any others, atleast i don't think, just really depends of priorities.

i'm out of luck, and options so far, i wish i knew how to program, and i hate to install aol on my machine again.. lol . :P
