1.91.5: Can't handle some BMP images

Post by Pilzfuss »

Hi,

XnView can't handle BMP images (video screenshots) that I created with VirtualDubMod (not VirtualDub).
It worked with older versions.
It looks like this:

These are 2 BMP images created with VirtualDubMod:

Does anyone have the same problem?

Kind regards

:) Hello !

• Sorry, but I can't get the ZIP from your awful host, I get a HTML page with IE¦Maxthon as the archive (!)
and a lot of thingies in German with Opera, but not the ZIP… :(

• Please, attempt to find another way to make the samples available…

Disable View>Preview>Use Alpha Channel for better view of sample bmp. Similar discussion here- perhaps that program doesn't create ideal bmp?

I think I'm too stupid.
Can't find this option.
Is that still part of v1.91.5 ?

You have on the browser mode, View/Preview/Use alpha channel or in view mode, view/Use alpha channel. Do you have tried that?

32-bpp BMP bug

YES. XNVIEW seems to no longer display correctly 32-bpp BMP's. Regression bug :bug: ? Converting to 24 bpp helps.
There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.

Yeah :-(

Pretty difficult to upload and hotlink a BMP - imageshack allows BMP, but force-compresses it to PNG: usually good idea, just not here :-(

But up to 1.90 XNVIEW used to ignore such bad alpha's :-|

No, 1.90 read bad alpha too, but the option to use it was disabled by default.
