.psp to .psd

Post by 13Misfit13 »

Sorry if this question has been asked but after sifting through page after page I figured I should just ask. I use paint.net to work w/psd file formats. Unfortunatley the .psd file plug-in does not support files made in paint shop pro but saved to photo shop format. XN View was a program that was shown to me so that I could convert psp files to psd. The problem I am having is in the converting of the files...

Here is my question:
How do you convert the multilayer files into another multilayer file while keeping the image properties the same? By this I mean that I can convert the .psp file into a .psd file but the layer properties change and make the layers unusable due to tranperecy issues. Layers that should have no back groung to them...i.e. a layer with a rim for a car that should only be the rim in the layer now has the layer with the rim but adds a black or white back ground to it, or a layer that should have a wire frame for the car body is no longer just the lines to the wire frame but has the frame merged with a white background. I don't know how to better describe it but I hope someone gets what I am saying. So basically what I am looking for is help with converting a file and keeping the same qualities or properties so that the image is usable.

Thanx for taking the time to read this and sorry if It does not offer much help but I am pretty computer illiterate on the issues.
