hi
I sometimes download magazines, which come as zip or rar, and like, half of the time, it crashes when I try to browse them.
Also, sometimes, XNview doesnt display the images, but the characters instead.
If you wanna test, an example of a file causing crashes (each time here) :

thanks
Crashes when browsing compressed (rar/zip) jpg

Confirmed. It crashes with your sample zip and with some of my own zip files.
But it doesn't crash every time. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it keeps crashing. Also when I attach debugger to XnView it doesn't crash. This might be a race condition crash.
I also noticed that it seems to only crash when the file are in subfolder inside the zip.
E.g. If you repack the sample zip, so that all the files are in the root directory of the zip file, it doesn't crash anymore.

Crash fixed in XnView 1.96 beta1 and XnView now it reads the faulty zip file (binary files stored in zip as text files) in this topic correctly.xnview wrote:Please try XnView 1.96 beta
