problem with Canon raw files .CR2

Postby zan1964 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 2:10 pm

Hi to everyone and thankyou very much to the developers.
I'm experiencing a problem with Canon raw files (.CR2) from a 350D (Rebel xi) camera: they appears completely GREEN indipendently from the size of the view and in thumbnails too. I've recently installed the 1.95.4 release of XnView and I'm sure with the previous versions I could see the raw files correctly. Have you any idea about how to solve this problem?
Thank you very much in advance,
Paolo

Do you have changed option/Read/Camera raw?
Pierre.

Hi Pierre, thank you for your help.
In effect after changing Options/Read/Camera raw I can correctly see the pictures, however the thumbnails are still shown in green...

Had the same problem.
Changed to auto WB and the problem was solved.

Thumbnails are created once and cached. Perhaps the wrong green thumbnails are stored in the cache.

Rebuilding the thumbnails (View > Rebuild Thumbnails) might help. If it does help for one directory, you might want to clear the whole cache (Tools > Options | Browser > Thumbnails | Cache | Remove all).

The pictures in the slide show are also green.
There must be a bug some where.

Even if you change the RAW setting?

I am not sure what to change in the Raw settings.
After I changed the WB to automatic The preview and the full screen view are OK exept in the slideshow. Here the pictures still apear green.
Thanks for the interest.

same problem here with my Pentax PEF files :
In 1.95.4 version, the colors are bad (yellow) and the contrast is poor

With 1.95.3, it was ok (thumbnail, preview and view). In Options/Read/Camera RAW, the four boxes are unchecked, and Gamma: 0.600, Brightness: 0.800, Red/Blue scaling: 1.000

With 1.95.4, I try to check these boxes without solution (deleting cache between tests)

Thank you in advance Pierre
