Hallo out there,
I use XNview for about 10 years and on different OSes. Since I use it on a Win 7-PC there are a few problems that I've never had before:
1. In "Options\System Integration" I cannot check "View with XNView" out of the context-menu. That means this order isn't part of the context-menu. I cannot open a folder with XNView.
2. Also I cannot check "Use XNView for USB-events" (I hope I translated the terms in quotation marks correctly)
When I check them the check gets lost when I open the "options" again.
I instruct elderly persons, amongst others, in "Digital Image Processing" and the change of the OS makes me helpless. Either I have to change the program I use or I must find a way out. Please help me! Thank You! (And excuse my English)

I have no problems with 1. but with 2. I can reproduce but I think older versions of XnView also had this problem too.Bluenote wrote:Hallo out there,

You must start XnView with admin rights if you want to change these settings!

Re: A few problems with XNView on Win 7
I always had similar problems running XnView with user rights on Windows XP and setting" Use .ini files in program folder for configuration" (single user setup?) instead of using config files in every users personal folders. When I changed something, it would just be like before when i reopend the preferences dialogs (and the effects would not take place).
What I actually did then quite a time ago, I allowed full access to the .ini file to ALL users on the system, by right clicking the file and editing the security options. Since then I could change various options and they actually would appear when I opened the preferences dialog again next time.
(The reason for me is: I have a system for my own, but I dont work with full admin rights, so have different user, one for installing/configuration, one work serious work, one for gaming. But at the same time I want that if I open Xnview with a user different than the usual user, the setting are still the same)
