If you check options>read>rotate images based on Exif orientation, browser thumbnails won't be refreshed (ie rotated) until you delete them from cache then add them again.

Fixed in RC3, though you need to browse to another folder then back to see the changes (clicking the Refresh toolbar button does nothing about orientation)
