I am a new user of this program, Version Sept 20th, 2010
I am tring to add text to the bottom of the picture to discribe date and location. I want it in the actual picture not the meta data so when i give the picture to someone and they view it will be right in the picture.
I tried use the ADD TEXT function with only ok results since I could not figure out how to Enlarge AND Change the row lenth/ wrap around so it does not extend across the full picture
also
I read somewhere that if i Select an area of the picture, then go to Edit menu then Insert Text Into selection( but i can not find that option on edit menu) any other way to add text?
any help apprecated,
Mike berry

There's no way to make it break automatically. You can change the size by clicking the font button in the add text dialog, then if it's too long, hit ctrl+z & try again (you can add linebreaks manually in the text box).
Alternatively, you can use the paint plugin that comes with xnview. Click filter->paint, then click the button with the big "T" on it, then click where you want the text to start on the pic (where ever you click with be the top-left corner of the text).
This method still can't automaticallt break, BUT you can drag the text around after you place it, and you can change the size or add breaks manually by simply right-clicking the text and choosing "modify". Once you're done, just click ok & then save the pic as you normally would.
