In browser and image windows, I can use the File Menu's "Acquire" to fetch images from my digital camera, BUT... the "Import Clipboard" menu item is only available when no browser or image window is open. Why is that?

- In brief : just press Shift+Ctrl+V then the Clipboard'll be imported on the screen as a <Clipboard-1> window at anytime, even if an image is already displayed, and the menu-entry blurred…

You can use "Import clipboard" in both browser and image view. In image view, Ctrl+V is used for paste to selection, and in browser Ctrl+V is used for pasting images, already.
