How to display 2 (or more) images in view mode?

Post by mrwul »

When viewing (i.e. double click on a jpg file, i.e. not using the browser) I'd like to compare two (or more) photos.
Right now I can only view one photo at the time.

It would be nice if - one way or the other - I cud simply 'keep/hold/lock' 1 photo and then go on to the next one using the
previous/next file button in the toolbar until the right one is in position and displayed as second photo on the
monitor, next to the one that is 'on hold/locked' so to say.
Both photos displayed in largest possible size. This way it may be easier to see which one is best.
When a few, almost identical photos have been shot.

Example:
when viewing photos, using the previous/next file button, at one point I would hold the ctrl-key (or whatever key-combination),
thát photo to be on hold, it will shift to the left part of the monitor, release ctrl-key, click on next file and the next file to be
displayed as 2nd photo on the screen (on the right half of the monitor).

(Slightly similar to 'Before/After' adjustment, but then max. size for better comparision).
Maybe even add a 3rd (as max. nmbr) photo, to decide which one of the three is the best.

Hopely the idea is clear?

I don't think it is available, at least I could not find it.

Thanks!

Why you don't use Compare tools?

Thanks for the tip!

To reply to your question:
.. because I was/am in the viewer mode (not browser) and was vainly looking for such a thing there.
But... on the other hand, as you see, I did know it (Compare tool) was there at all.
Yes, shame on me  )

Coming back on this one: would it be possible to add a few more details to shift-C (compare), like pixels and size?

Just a suggestion.

Thanks!

Again, just a suggestion.
Don't pay attention to the data, they are the same but serve to illustrate what I meant.

Thanks for your sample screenshot, mrwul. Looks like configurable info like "Show information" would be helpful, here.
