There are several screensavers that include automatic zoom & pan: Nostalgic (http://www.greggman.com/nostalgic/), MotionPicture (http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~gstitt/motionpicture/) and iSlideshow (http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~esteger/islideshow/).
I would love to see this effect in slideshows!!
