Missing shared library libpulse.so

Since the last version (0.76 for linux x64) XnView fails to start:

/opt/XnView/XnView: error while loading shared libraries: libpulse.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I run Gentoo x86_64. My system doesn't use pulseaudio, and it seems to assume it's present. Why would an image browser require audio libraries?
Also I noticed that from this update it uses Qt5 (I dont' have it installed locally), and it's probably shipping extra unused libraries.

edit: just noticed i posted on the wrong forum. this is for the XnviewMP version, move it please.
