Bug on status line "reported selected files"

Post by rogosan »

environment:
. windows xp pro w/sp2
. xnview 1.82.4, libformat 4.57

Browse on a directory containing many image files. Then go to menu, select "view as" and then the first or second voice (i.e.: "thumbnails" or "thumbnails & labels").

1. Now click on an image file and select it. On the status bar you'll read "N object(s) / 1 file(s) selected...".
2. Hold shift and select the next adiacent image file. On the status bar you'll read "N object(s) / 2 file(s) selected...".
3. Once again, hold shift and select the next adiacent image file. On the status bar you'll read "N object(s) / 3 file(s) selected...".
4. Now, hold shift and select the previous adiacent image file, the one selected at step 2.
->bug: On the status bar you'll read again "N object(s) / 3 file(s) selected..." while it should be "N object(s) / 2 file(s) selected..."

Please note that the status bar reports correctly the number of files selected if view mode is either "thumbnails & details" or "icons" or "list" or "details".

I've just experienced the same problem:
When selecting multiple images with "Shift" + Mouse click the info in the status bar is wrong, XnView displays "2 files selected" when there are many more selected.

From my point of view this is not an import but a basic feature one would expect to work properly. For this reason it would be good if this was fixed in one of the next releases.
