Thank you! (slideshow window resizing?)

Post by happy user »

Hi Mr. Gougelet,

Thank you SO much for your work on Xnview. I've been using it for years now. Its one of the first programs I install on a new OS.
I cringe when I consider people using IE to view their pictures. And yet, they really do!

I wanted to see whether you could add an option to run a slideshow in a small/resizable window, (sizing the image to fit to the window). I fiddled with a lot of settings to see if this was already possible, but had no luck.

Also, the set image width/height works well in the EXE creation, but for some reason it resets the program window to the center of the screen at every image change/transition. Would you be able to allow the EXE to retain its position? (I.e. watching a slideshow in the corner of the screen while writing a novel, etc.)

Once again, thanks again.

Cheers!

If you disabled fullscreen mode, you are in windowed mode...

Yes, perhaps it's better to not center always window....

Hi Mr. Gougelet,

Thank you for your reply.

In slide-show windowed mode, changes to the window size only "crop" the current image, instead of resizing them to the window. In addition, the slide-show resets the window size as soon as the next picture is displayed.

I've tried setting Auto Image Size to "Fit Image to Window/All" but I see no change in the behaviour of the slide show.

Thanks for your time :!:

Do you have disabled option 'center'???

I am having the same problem

I seem to be having the same problems as Anonymous2.

Whenever I play the exe the program window resets to the center in between photos. So, when I double click on the exe the the slide show starts in the center. I move the window to a corner, and when the second photo appears the window is moved back to the center.

I have verified that "Center Window" is unchecked. I have also tried playing with the options on the view tab ( ie. Auto Image Size, etc... ) not knowing if that would actually help, with no luck.

Anonymous2 was also having an issue with the window resizing during a slide show started by pressing the "Go" button instead of using the executable. I can resize the first photo, but the resize dimensions are lost when the second photo displays. The X,Y coordinates are not lost though, just the size of the window. ( on a side note when I resize the cursor seems to vanish for a while also, but I am not concerned with that )

Overall I like the product. It is quite useful for batch changes.
