Can it open in a new window instead of a new tab?

Post by sachoben »

I just discovered XnView, it feels so good to uninstall acdcee :)
I'm about to tell all my friends about XnView!

Now, I am wondering if there is an option to open every image in a new window instead when opening it from the browser?

Also, I'm using the option "Fit window to image" with "Force XnView to fit image" and with "Hide scroll bar". But it is not a perfect fit, there is always grey area (like where the scroll bar would be?) Is this a bug or is there another option I am missing?

Thanks! 8)

XnView is MDI based, so window are opened in XnView main window

But I found a way to do it
You implemented a sweet feature which is "Open in associated program". So in the options, I assigned this as the default "Open Action", and since my associated program is XnView (because it rocks) it pops a new window! Sweeeeet!

Here's one screenshot with grey bars on top and bottom of the picture. This reproduces with every picture that fits within my monitor resolution (which means the window size should fit the image size perfectly).

Here's another screenshot, this time with a grey bar on the right side. This happen when the picture is bigger than my screen resolution:
