It's important to us to write IPTC to TIFF.
Recently you mentioned:

However, several weeks ago you mentioned adding support for IPTC for TIFF.

Images can carry both IPTC (IIMv4.1) and XMP (Adobe's own implementation of metadada, that Photoshop call "IPTC" as well). They may be used in parallel... as in Photoshop.
It seems that Photoshop writes into both XMP and IPTC, but read only from XMP.

Photoshop writes some informations (like the lens used for RAW files converted by ACR) only to the XMP data and not in the EXIF data of a file.
Therefore the integration of XMP support in a future release of XnView (as thumbnail labels and properties tab) could be quite useful
