Preview for 'Join images' tool
A small preview of how images are going to be aligned with current settings, updated live, when a setting is changed or an image position is changed by pulling it around in the file list tab.

Re: Are there any plans of improving the 'join images' tool
Another nice feature would be to have a small preview of how images are going to be aligned with current settings, live updated when a setting is changed or an image order is dragged around.

Is there no way to add estimated quality in info box?
I'm looking through the dropdown options for the info box in a corner, that you can see in view mode of an image, and can't find it.

Re: WebP - Is there a reason not to use the highest "compression method"?
I meant does 6/6 produce worse quality than 0/6? or is it lossless compression rate (like 7zip options) - purely slower for higher compression, without the quality loss at the same "0-100 level".

WebP - Is there a reason not to use the highest "compression method"?
other than speed that is.. or does it affect quality as well?
the 0-6 setting in webp, not the 0-100 "level" setting.
the 0-6 setting in webp, not the 0-100 "level" setting.

user0, makes more sense in the actual export window, where the export button is that leads to saving dialogue.

Re: [request] batch-convert options
If I add a filter, I want it to be applied regardless of the result file size.
This option compares: ?end result < original? and keeps original or the end result. Filters 'might' assist in reducing the filesize, but not always (for example original might be low quality already or the conditional ...

Re: [request] batch-convert options
@xnview, the goal is size reduction, so the comparison should be the last automated decision making check for which file to keep - converted&resized&whatever or old. Otherwise you'd just not have the option ticked (default) in the first place.

Warning message about metadata deletion when saving as
The file->format settings->write checkboxes set are set to save data, but when using file->save as it still is showing a warning message (even though info is not deleted).

webp seems to compress better for the same quality number, compared to avif 420.

Re: [request] batch-convert options
@xnview, 2. Compare end-result (after application of conditional filters and after conversion) to original, then it's the same logic:
- keep original if it is still smaller (without saving the converted&resized).
- otherwise keep converted&resized, while deleting original.
- keep original if it is still smaller (without saving the converted&resized).
- otherwise keep converted&resized, while deleting original.

Re: [request] batch-convert options
@ xnview ,
1. Conflicts with the "delete original" option, as I don't need it to delete the original - if it's smaller than converted, and I don't need it to keep 2 of each images of a downsized image (should work with delete original on, therefore keeping the original number of unique files).

Re: [request] batch-convert options
@xnview, should work regardless of input/output format (like when converting a folder with a bunch of random .png, .jpeg, .webp to 95% .webp) or conditional filters (like resize to 4000 width, if width>4000 ).
