Probably because of the 1-bit transparency mask, which is a rare type of ILBM transparency.

MTV format incorrect?
MTV files written by XnView 2.05 aren't read correctly by Netpbm's mtvtoppm utility. Typically, the colors are messed up.
It happens because XnView ends the header line with 0x0a 0x00, while mtvtoppm expects just 0x0a. I think XnView is the one that gets it wrong. References: Format documentation ...

Crash on JIF file
When I view this file in XnView 2.05 and click the Next Page button, it crashes:

I think the file is malformed, so I don't expect it to display anything useful, just not crash.

When I try to view this TIFF file with XnView 2.00, it crashes immediately.
