Once again, thank you guys for all the answers. I'm downloading Neat Image now to see how the pictures turn out. I still have the negatives, so it wouldn't be a problem to get them printed someswhere else.

Am I correct that you shoot photos with a film-based (analogue) camera and take the film to a photo kiosk where it's processed, scanned and burned on CD?
That's correct.

I think the film was kodak 200 ISO

My guess would be that you have the "Use Embedded thumbnail" option on. Go to "Options / Browser / Thumbnail" and uncheck the "Use Embedded thumbnail", if it is checked.

If that didn't help, it's probably a cache problem. In this case you can try to disable the cache in "Options / Browser / Cache ...
