I have found an acceptable work around for the problem.
If I leave XnView Options>>Browser>>Items Displayed>>Video Files to default, I can triple click on any video file including WMV files and they will immediately open in my associated program (Windows Media Player ...

I'd like to be able to double click on a video thumbnail in the XnView Browser and have it play in my associated program (Windows Media Player) and bypass the XnView Preview player.
