Re: Cannot set associations
Even 1.98.1 does not work and it does not set file associations, no matter if started normally or with administrator privileges. Again, using the Default programs feature of the Control Panel can fortunately be used to make XnView the default program for corresponding extensions.

Re: Cannot set associations
I tried 1.98.5 now. It does not give me the strange error message "Err 5 Msg 1", but it still does not change the file associations. However, I have found out that it can be quite easily done using "Default Programs" dialog from the Control Panel.

Re: Cannot set associations
I think so, but I am not sure. I install new versions regularly, so if the previous version was 1.98.2, I think it is what I had installed before 1.98.8.
I am considering re-installing the latest version, should I give it a try?

Re: Cannot set associations
No, the previous version worked just fine. Should I download and install the previous version?

Cannot set associations
I am using XnView for Windows 1.98.8 (Mar 9 2012) on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. When I try set the associations, I get a strange window titled "Err 5" and containing text "msg 1". I have to repeatedly click OK to get rid of this window and the associations are not set at all.
I tried restarting ...
