Re: XnView MP 0.86

You can download XnView MP 0.86 here: Linux DEB version: http://download.xnview.com/XnViewMP-linux.deb Pierre, the 32-bit Linux version (DEB) does not install. At least Ubuntu software center complains about malformed-deb-archive at error: main STDERR Please check and rebuild the DEB. The 64-bit de...

Re: 0.85: File modified date not set at Save As

By default, XnView MP keeps the original date/time even when saving or applying other transformations. If you don't want this behaviour ... Helmut (and Pierre): May I suggest to rethink the whole behaviour regarding dates in metadata. There are various dates saved either in the image file (EXIF, XM...

Re: 0.85: File modified date not set at Save As

you should uncheck for lossless transformations Sorry, Pierre, I don't understand your statement. I accept that if I take any image, open it and save it to maybe a different format or a different location, then I may want to keep the original metadata. But as soon as I modify the image, e.g. rotate...

All setting are default, thus checked.
It shouldn't matter here, though. The image is modified (cropped), so the "modified date" should be updated and not kept.

0.85: File modified date not set at Save As

Using 0.85 Linux 64bit I was wondering about a wrong display sequence in Browser when sorting is set to "Date" - "Descending". Looking at the file details it seems that "Modified date" is not correctly set during Save As. Try this: Take any existing image. Mine was crea...

Re: 0.64 Send image via email - text part

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.66 or later. Could you please try and confirm the bug fix, dietmar? Helmut, as there's now an option "Use default client", this is all I need. I don't need (and want to) put the SMPT login into XnView. The auto-generated email look fine ...

Re: 0.72 Resizing problem

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.75 or later. Could you please try and confirm the bug fix, dietmar? Nope. In MP 0.84 x64 I still see this: - open any image - resize using preset 800x600, keep aspect ratio - works. - undo - snip image to half width, full height - resize using <la...

0.80 Linux: Name filter in file selection dialog

Pierre, using 0.80 (Linux 32-bit) there's a new bug regarding filenames in file selection dialogs. Take any folder which has JPEG images using both .JPG and .jpg extensions (upper and lower case). Take any file and "Save As". Select the folder and select the JPG file filter. Only images ha...

2.34 Web Page sort order for thumbs

Pierre,
if you let the browser sort images by name, A_B comes first, followed by A-B.
If you create a web page ordered by name, A-B comes first, followed by A_B.
Should be consistent.

0.76.1 Linux x32 - PageUp/Down problems

Pierre, there are a few problems with the PageUp and PageDown keys. 1: This laptop has a numeric keypad. With NumLock off, the keypad works as cursor keys. Thus I then have two (different) PageUp keys (NumKeypad and normal). Both behave differently: - in the browser tree both keys move a page up and...

Re: Categories UI problem: Right-click menu

Pierre, there's another minor UI problem with categories: In the Categories Data Pane when you add a new sub-category it is sorted at N (New Category), with the New Category "name" highlighted to be renamed. That's ok, but after you renamed the new category it stays at the N position. It s...

Re: Categories UI problem: Right-click menu

Pierre, there's another minor UI problem with categories: The Categories data pane is defunct (greyed out) when no image is selected. While it makes sense to disallow choosing categories without an active image, it is confusing that you cannot even scroll to see which categories exist or that you ca...
