I face the same issue 6 years later. I want to clean the XMP data but XnViewMP always encodes the image again.
When I clean manually I have to save and then it is encoded again.
When I use batch convert and select "same as original" it also encodes them again.

Well, for XnViewMP on Windows 8.1 64bit and assuming 3 folders, A B C, on the same level:
- Folders can't be dragged in the folder tree at all
If I drag in the right panel with folder tree visible, things get wonky.
- Drag A into B, A vanishes in the folder tree, but no subfolder triangle for B ...

I liked the way FSViewer was using the mouse button. Much more intuitive than XnViewMP. But I still ditched it since XnViewMP has a superior JPG converter. I can't imagine who uses the selection tool in fullscreen. A viewer should mainly view files, no need to add editing controls.

Same thing in XnViewMP. No update of folder view on change. F5 doesn't update view.
