XnView needs legacy gstreamer base

Xnview needs libgstapp-0.10 which is part of the legacy gstreamer0.10 base plugin. Could it be updated to use the current gst plugins instead? I don't know whether it needs other files as well but libgstapp is where it falls over if gstreamer0.10 base isn't installed.

thanks

Re: 0.70 won't open on linux

Thanks for the reply but I had already fixed it. I installed it late at night and as you guessed I made a basic mistake extracting it to the wrong location. As soon as I looked at it this morning I realised what I had done.

Unfortunately I had the cpu problem with 0.70 and downgraded again to 0.69

0.70 won't open on linux

I had xnview 0.69 installed on Manjaro from the tgz file. I upgraded to 0.70 by extracting the new tgz over the top.

When I try to rin xnview.sh in the terminal it fails with the error

Code: Select all

./xnview.sh: line 5: /home/me/.XnView/XnView: Is a directory

Noob questions about xnview's database?

I am trying xnview as a non kde alternative to Digikam. With Digikam and other photo and music 'collection' managing programs they often have a target directory. This is usually set on first use and the program scans all the contents of that directory, builds its database and then keeps track of ...

Re: Delete action doesn't delete file?

I don't know whether my post was clear enough but once I had sorted out the Trash problem which was due to XFCE and the way I was mounting the partition in fstab, xnview is working fine with its default setting of 'Use Recycle Bin'. The problem I was having was caused by my setup and not by xnview ...

Re: Delete action doesn't delete file?

I had the same problem using xnview on Manjaro linux with XFCE. Delete file, it disappears from view but when going back to that folder the file is back. This was when trying to delete photos on an ntfs partition.

I noticed that there is not a choice of 'send to trash' or 'delete' in xnview. I had ...
