In the meantime I was using the tool quite on some files.
I did other things on my Computer while waiting for the response of the tool.
Now I found a real bug:
While the tool is actively working and the popup-window is visible,
the program crashes when I accidently click anywhere in the main window ...

I did some tests this evening, and I can say the tool is working fine
but it is
very very slow with RAW files (canon in my case)
it takes more than 1 sec per file to change the date.
So I assumed the program stopped working but it obviously was not the case.

As I tried to update the EXIF Date <date take> using the file changing date - 6 hours
the tool didn't work correctly.
I used it on 200 files and it worked correctly until file number 146 while 147 to 200 remained unchanged.
But the tool ended corrctly and xnview kept working.#

When Browsing in the details view you can sort the pictures by EXIF Date (It seems to be the <date taken> tag)
but when you use the tool of Xnview to change that date it is changed correctly as you can see in the EXIF tab,
but the date is not updated in the corresponding details listing field.
