Sorry to resurrect this thread but I had exactly the same problem. Annoyed me to no end cause it kept turning off my monitor's HDR (which also meant taking around 5-10 seconds to refresh the whole display). Can confirm that the .ini change fixes it but it would be nice if the software didn't do that ...

What happened to all the slideshow features of XnView classic? In particular, the ability to make a custom slideshow with specific files and a specific order and length, and save them to .sld? I miss that feature enormously.
