I use XnView mainly and Linux and there is no such problem. The issue is with tagging on Mac OS.
- Open an image from Finder so that XnView is started in the View mode.
- Display the image information (Show information I)
- Press Cmd+T to tag the image (it is indicated in the information as ...

i can't test multi monitor on linux, but it's very strange in view mode, that's picture is stretched on second monitor. The picture must become fullscreen on 1st monitor only (like on windows)
