EXIF data in AVIF files generated with avifenc is not displayed
When opening AVIF files in XnView MP 1.9.4, EXIF data is not displayed even though it is correctly present in the AVIF container.
Other tools (e.g., exiftool 13.38 or Windows 10 file properties) can read the embedded EXIF data.

Scroll speed very low in browser view
Since a while the mouse scroll speed in "browser view" set to "view as details" is very low probably because of this:

keep transparency when reducing color depth
Is there a way to reduce an image from 16mio colors to fewer colors while maintaining the background transparency? I couldn't find anything in Batch Convert > Actions > Change color depth.

Enhancing Readability: Alternating Row Brightness/Saturation in Details View
It would be a great help if the lines in the details view were alternately slightly differently bright/saturated. So one row normal and the next a little darker/brighter/less saturated, then normal again and so on. This would make it easier to distinguish individual rows from each other when you ...

image annotations and/or comments as an action
Automatically allow the setting of annotations and/or comments as an action. It would be a bonus for me if the compression settings could be stored there via a variable.

Re: Multiple instances of XnView opened when file header is not read
Reproducible as follows:
1. switching mode: double-click Browser <> Fullscreen | Viewer ...
2. browser view (details)
3. open a folder with about 100 images that have about 5000px on the longest side. This slows down scanning.
4. cancel the scanning process with ESC.

Re: Set a lower CPU process priority for batch conversions

Set a lower CPU process priority for batch conversions
Batch conversions can take several minutes, especially when converting to jxl/avif. These run as a process with the normal CPU priority level, which has a negative effect on other programs by making them hardly usable during the process. It is possible to set this in the process explorer, but this ...
