Re: Data Loss! Cut and paste selected files
Whatever you say, my friend. I can tell you that I will never use your software again, that's for sure. It's Amateur Hour here, all the time.

Re: Data Loss! Cut and paste selected files
Well, better late than never, I suppose.
But you have to wonder how many people have silently lost data during the years that this extremely severe and ugly bug has existed.

Re: Data Loss! Cut and paste selected files
What you need to do is re-create the test scenario:
Tag about 50 files ( tif files)
Select tagged files and Cut them
Paste into target folder
But first, put some duplicates in the target folder , so that you get the dialogue that asks if you want to delete from left or right.

Re: Data Loss! Cut and paste selected files
Maybe this is why the bugs never get fixed .... my easy-to-understand post is now questioned in an odd way by the developer.

Meanwhile I am trying out FastStone Viewer, which is a XnView replacement and seems more stable.

Data Loss! Cut and paste selected files
I tagged a hundred files, then selected them, and cut them to paste them into another folder.
Strangely, I started getting messages that there were duplicates in the target folder (I don't think there were), so I was offered a choice to delete the left or right file, which I did for a few instances ...

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
Could you send Pierre a sample file via e-mail ?
No, I'm kinda getting fatigued on this issue now. I'm just going to use Adobe Bridge. It should be easy enough to replicate this issue. ... I doubt Pierre is unaware.

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
Cannot fix it. Here is what happens:

Oddly, if I change between icon sizes in Windows File Explorer, the thumbnail disappears at the very large size and very small size. With XnV, no matter what icon size I set, it does not show the thumbnail.

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
It's interesting ... I have just discovered that files saved with version 5.1 of PS have this problem, but if I open them with PS CC and re-save them after making a minor adjustment, then the thumbnails appear in Windows File Explorer (using the Ardfry codec mentioned above). However with XnVMP I am ...

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
If XnView cannot “decipher” the layers (because the PSD version is too recent), the embedded “composite image” (flattened preview) is used to create the browser thumbnail.
Those thumbnails you see in my screenshot were created with a pre-2015 version of Photoshop. So are you saying you can only ...

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
So how are you currently creating thumbnails? From an internal thumbnail layer in the file? Is that the "flattened layer" I mention above?

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
i have no problem with my psd files
Try saving a few new ones without compatibility. I turn off compatibility because I get smaller files that way.

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
I suspect the answer to this, for serious users of Photoshop, is to install Adobe Bridge again. Pity, I was hoping to get away from it....
