Seemed to work so far, thanks. Now I have to fight my way through a lot of Tags (garbage from Picasa) I thought I had deleted. Turned out they were deleted in XnView, but not within the images/XMPs. So it worked better ...

first I want to describe the way that led to the current situation. In installed XnView on a new laptop as I wanted to get rid of Picasa. XnView just looked great to me, especially as I wanted to use categories as virtual albums.
