Through experimentation I believe the following to be true through experimentation with XnView MP MacOSX Version 0.94.2:
1) When searching selecting the "Add >>" button brings up a list that includes Categories, Ratings, ... and "All fields".
2) When searching with this top level "All fields" this ...
