I have the tooltips turned off in the preferences, but the one I'm having trouble with in the categories just will not go away.

Attachment added of the tooltip I mean, it keeps coming up when I am trying to add categories to my files.

I use the categories sidebar a lot, but assigning a category to a thumbnail is annoying as the tooltip keeps coming up (hovering) whenever my mouse pointer touches a category or sub-category. I have turned off tooltips in the settings.

How do I hide filename extensions in the thumbnail view? I've tried everything in the settings but must have missed something somewhere.
