5 star ratting visible via XMP-edit, but does not display the purple star

I observe some inconsistency that is driving me crazy:

if I rate an image using XnView interface (the star icon), it becomes the color of the star: ie: 5 = purple,
and I can filter the folder by "excellent" and the "starred 5" images are shown.

works as expected
