As far as the second information is concerned, i do not use the side car either, because this can be unreliable with different photo agencies, only IPTC is dead safe.

1) I can tag an image only in the browser view, after that I can see the X in the info panel when viewing this image in the full screen view. I cannot tag an image while in the full screen view and later see the tagged images in the browser view. that won't work
update, now I see I can tag images only the browser view (command+t). when I switch to image view, then there is an X in brackets indeed
but how can I tag, or mark, an image in the full screen view? I need to mark the images the other way round, first to see them big, and then go to the browser ...

Pierre, it is enabled and I can see it. Nevertheless my agency, for whatever reason, cannot.
In the "old days", we used to caption our jpg first and the convert the captioned jpg with irfan view. It somehow put everything in place, I mean the meta data, so tan that all other software could read it
That's exactly the problem: I see the keywords locally on my M1 Mac, but my agency says there are none.
Pls. excuse me for mentioning some other software :-) but I am sure you know what I mean. Both this progs are expensive and miss some features XnviewMP offers, but on the other hand apparently ...
being in urgent need for clear, step by step, for dummies :-) instructions how to embed IPTC keywords to a jpg image. In the same way like Photo Mechanic or Fotostation do.
