Still prevalent in 1.6.1 (tries to open a file without extension), but if i uncheck «Include» it doesn't tries to read them. Like this:

sadly did not fixed for me and i also see test file without extension in buil-in xnview's browser in my test folder. This is how it looks:

i can't reproduce. Which files format do you have? What do you have as 'Settings>General>Mode when....'?


My starting mode is in «Viewer»
I created an empty file without extension called test in powershell with New-Item test

my test folder looks like this:
ls -Name
Hannah Hays - Adventure ...

1.5.3 64bits (Aug 11 2023)
Windows 10 Pro x64
When viewing photos xnView tries to open files without extension.

How to reproduce:
create a folder with images and with empty files without extensions
open image from windows explorer
press next/previous file until you encounter blank file
XnView ...

Bug with reading files with no extensions is still prevalent in Version 1.5.3 64bits (Aug 11 2023)
This is mine's current custom filters:

Everything works just fine!

I always change the option for «Mode when starting with a file» to Viewer. If i revert it to browser and open a file there — everything works.

and you reproduce like "I open a folder with PDF/video/images. I open in a tab one image, and go prev/next and only images here... "??

I dont have a bug if i start xnviewmp, after that i click on a browser button, go to a folder where i click on the image and ...

Big news! If i use xnview's browser and open in it's browser a file it uses mine settings and shows me only the images. And even the counter in the status bar shows me the right numbers!
But i don't use xnview browser and if i just click on the image in windows explorer and open the file in xnviewmp ...

Sadly i still see pdf's while scrolling on Version 1.5.1 64bits (Jul 19 2023).
I will try and delete xnview and config in %AppData%\Roaming\XnViewMP\
Now i'ts worse: i unchecked videos, pdf's and audio in File list→Cutom filter but now xnview shows me not only pdf's, but the videos and audios ...

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.5.1 . Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

After updating to 1.5.0 custom filter option stopped working and xnviewmp shows me pdf's when i press next/previous file, despite i already unchecked them in Options→File list→Custom filter
