oxipng is great, would be a lovely addition to a near perfect image handling tool (XnView that is ).
PNGs are sometimes a pain in the a** - so great to still see development in the encoder space
as XnViewMP is capable of displaying both videos and images in the same view, I'd like to ask if there is a possibility to add a "Thumbnail Labels" configuration specifically for videos as well?
Right now the "Labels" configurations allows for "generic informations" like Filename, File ...
Yes exactly - and that obviously depends on user configuration anyhow. In my case, I see the camera model, so my usecase would be filtering these values.
But yes, generically spoken, the whole thumbnail label.
I work with mixed folders of images + videos for all my vacations sorted by date.
Usually what I do is: I select ALL files and rotate based on EXIF orientation (which WORKS even while selecting an MP4 / MOV file along the way), and sometimes if the images are already pre-rotated, I still ...
I have folders of mixed elements from different sources, like IPhone, Android Phones etc. Sometimes I want to quickly have a look at the elements captured by a specific model, e.g. IPhone 15.
The data is already there in my folder preview panel because I added / configured it to show up ...

this is a pretty special and complex topic it seems.
Both in XnView as well as XnConvert, when converting/compressing a JPG (overwriting the original one to compress a bit), when using the Option "Keep EXIF Metadata", not al EXIF Metadata is retained.
Thanks, that helped, I got the vertical position "full-height". But I couldn't get another panel (like "info") meanwhile going across below the file-browser, similar like the following blue rectangle:

This is probably not possible, right? Dont worry, if not ...
Is there currently any way of extending the preview panel in "Browser mode" from top to very bottom, like indicated in this screenshot by the red rectangle?
It would help a bit with vertical pictures / videos, and I don't think that the info-panel really doesnt have so wide/broad in ...
Okay, tried to reproduce today and could NOT reproduce.
Maybe it was some problem with my PC. I remember, on that day when it happened, when deleting a video file using DEL+Enter in XnView, I often got the Windows explorer message "file in use" which also seemed odd. So maybe there was an issue ...
It doesnt seem like the video file itself is "buggy" or corrupted. When presing Arrow left and than right, the video is perfectly orientated. It just is that AFTER file-deletion and automatic jump to the next file, sometimes XnView gets the orientation wrong ...
