feature is already there:
1. select files in Browser
2. press Enter/Return (or 'Open' in context menu/toolbar)
images will be opened as filelist
It feels clumsy to open via LMB double-click as you have to click on not selected image, if you double-click on already selected image it will be ...

Ctrl+double click? you open compare tool?
Actually, I do not know, what it does in MP.
What I can do in classic, and what I want to be able to do in MP is:
I select in the browser LMB with CTRL pressed some selected pictures, and when I come to the last one of the selection, I LMB doubleclick it ...

I miss the Ctrl+DoubleClick on a selection from within the browser, that opens just these pictures for a comparison. Incredible helpful in Classic, wouldn't want to miss it. The reason, to still use Classic besides MP. Which ist waay better in memory handling, and has a lot of nice gimmicks!
