Re: "[" & "]" no longer work as chars in search on filename

I looked through a bit of your post/comment history, and you are condescending to many people. I understand that you'll never realize that, but a little self-assessment may be warranted. On that note, I bid you adieu. Please, keep your word.

Re: "[" & "]" no longer work as chars in search on filename

In the future, where you're doing things that have multiple approaches, it's best to either be very specific or provide a screenshot to document specifics.

Also, FYI, searching against filename as a condition is more flexible, as you can use booleans and multiple conditions, and you can also save ...

"[" & "]" no longer work as chars in search on filename

I have many thousands of files which have keywords inside []. I also use {} and () for other purposes, so I can't just change.
I used to be able to search using [keyword], but it doesn't work any more and I can't find anything in the settings to allow or exclude certain chars. I'm also not using ...

Re: Feature enhancement request

Evidently, this only happens on the OP's operating system.

On Windows with 1.9.3, where the filesystem is case insensitive but case preserving, the Pathname search is always case insensitive, even if the "case sensitive" box is checked.

The 'Case sensitive' checkbox seems to only affect the ...

Feature enhancement request [Solved]

In the search dialog box, leaving the 'Case sensitive' box unchecked makes the filename search parameter case insensitive.

In the conditions section below, Pathname (and maybe other fields), is case sensitive, and there's no way to disable that. If I want to avoid searching in certain folders, I ...

Broken feature in 1.9.3

I posted this before, but it looks like it got removed.

Prior to 1.9.3, the Folder field got saved with search presets (just like every other field on the dialog box). This was my preferred behavior, but apparently some people prefer the opposite and put in a request to remove that. (If you didn't ...

I absolutely agree. This is an excellent application, with more functionality than I could ever use and Pierre's attention to detail and responsiveness is unheard of these days. Thank you for everything you're doing.

Thanks. That's really unfortunate that this was removed. It's going to make some of my searching take a lot more effort. . I decided to revert to 1.9.2 because of this.

1.9.3 - Search presests no longer remember the path saved with it [Solved]

I tried re-saving a Preset, but it still didn't remember the paths I saved with them.

Also, the Conditions in the search dialog are all case-sensitive, so if I'm trying to avoid searching in folders 'Keep', I also have to list it as 'keep' in case capitalization wasn't consistent.

Thanks

Re: Is there any way to sort sub folders?

Apparently it doesn't happen on a top-level folder. It needs to be at least one level deep. Yes, this is all in the Folder panel.

Steps to reproduce
Create the test folders (as in the first screenshot). (These don't have to be created through the tool)
Close and reopen XnView
Expand the parent ...
