Hi Hawkse...
As far as I know, no solution was found except to rename or delete the JBIG2DEC plug-in. Since I don't have any JBIG images, I just renamed the plug-in "jbig2dec.exe" to "_jbig2dec.exe". It's located in the XnView\Plugins directory.

I'm 100% certain that my system is virus/spyware free.
Even tho' I didn't think it would effect anything, I went ahead & uninstalled Mozilla (since I need to upgrade it to the latest version anyway). Uninstalling Mozilla had no effect on XnView's behavior on my 2.8 GHz P4 (no surprise ...

I always display hidden files, and none are present in any of the image folders I've displayed w/XnView.

Yes -- even if a folder has only one file & it's a simple html file (no scripts or Java code, etc.). If I select that folder in XnView (Browse-mode), then when I browse to another folder with images, every image I double-click on (to view) triggers the JBIG2DEC command window pop ...

RE: JBIG2DEC Error when opening images
Hi Claude...
I've done some further debugging & have come to the conclusion that this error has nothing to do with any of my image files. Rather, it appears to be related to what folders/directories I happen to browse. For example, if I browse a folder that has an html file in it, that seems to ...

RE: JBIG2DEC Error when opening images
I erred in my last post. The JBIG2DEC error is still present. In addition, it also occasionally occurs in Full Screen view when cycling to "Next" image.
Before going any further, I just want to make it clear that this isn't an issue for me. I seldom (if ever) use JBIG2, so removing it from the plug ...

RE: Strange Behavior, JBIG2DEC
If I remove jbig2dec.exe, the problem goes away. In fact, when I restore the plug-in, the problem still remains gone. Weird, eh?
I originally thought that the problem might be related to the fact that I use Paint Shop Pro and that there's a Paint Shop Pro "Browser" file in virtually all of my image ...

I replaced the "jbig2dec.exe" plug-in & rebooted, and the problem is still gone.

JBIG2DEC Error when opening images
When opening any images (gif, bmp, jpg, etc.) in image view (from either the browser or File=>Open), I get multiple command window pop-ups, each of which displays multiple lines of "JBIG2DEC FATAL ERROR Not a JBIG2 file header." Once an image is displayed, if you go to the next image (page down ...

RE: Strange Behavior, JBIG2DEC
I'm experiencing the same behavior as zeugma reported, i.e., multiple command windows appear cycling multiple lines of "Fatal Error not a JBIG2 file header". It occurs on all image types I've tried (jpg, bmp, gif). When in the browser, if I double-click on any image; and when cycling to "Next Image ...
