XnView's processing speed when finding similar pictures is pretty decent on my dual core machine. In fact, it's faster than most other freeware similar image finders.

However, I definitely agree any multi-threading and/or optimizations to speed up the processing would be a step in the right ...

Glad to see I'm not the only person confused. XnView's "Find similar files" algorithm is excellent (both its accuracy and speed), and I'm also grateful for this quality freeware. However, I've never been comfortable with the current "reference" terminology regarding similar images.

I hope others ...

I strongly agree the current "reference" terminology regarding image matches is unclear and should be changed to something more intuitive. Nobody wants to accidently delete the wrong image, even if it goes to the Recycle Bin. All that is needed is a little red X on each image (something like Compare ...
