Thanks for reply XNVIEW. I understand that no changes can be made if there is a .bak file. But why when changing IPTC infomation in Xnview and Windows 7 does it create a .bak file?

I am also using Windows 7 and having this problem. Changing Properties had no effect. Not all photos create a .bak file but most do. It is very fustrating to keep checking and deleting these bak files! Any Solutions?
