Re: 1.00: new files are added at the end of the list does not work
Which sort criteria / sort order do you use for the browser (View > Sort by > ...)? When I sort by "Name" (which is default) all works fine for me but when I sort by "Exif Date taken" I could reproduce your problem.

Re: v1.00 - Minor GUI issue with abort button
Thank you for your problem report, appyface. From what I can see there is some misunderstanding: "Abort" means that search that is currently running is aborted/stopped. This works fine for me. If you want to both abort search and close the search dialog you have to use system menu "[X]".

Re: How long should changing a Time Stamp Take?
Thank you for your request, Damit. 2 seconds for changing time stamp is really very long. My guess is that XnView performs some resorting or something else but this is really just a guess. Are we talking of changing time stamp of a single file or multiple files (batch convert)? Do the files reside ...

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
Thank you for your extra info and screen video, Levian. In the video one can clearly see that browing the RAR archives looks as if you browsed an empty folder. There must be something special about your RAR files - could you please provide a (small) sample RAR file?

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
This is an amazing feature that I have been waiting for a long time. But, I can't find how to turn it on. I've been scratching my head for 2 hours now. I downloaded the new archive 1.0 from the main page of the site. And I probably read everything on the forum related to opening .rar, but when I ...

Re: view - auto image size not working
For "Auto image size" (correct: Auto zoom") there is a temporary setting and a permanent setting. Temporary setting is set in Image mode > View > Auto image size". The permanent setting is set in "Tools > Settings | View > View". By default, permanent setting is set to "Last used" which makes ...

Re: descript.ion does not support unicode, Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 28 2022)
The way it is now (UTF-8 disabled) is pretty useless for many Asian users.
it's to be compatible with old description file used by others apps
O.k.. But couldn't there be a smart logic in XnView that recognizes if the user uses non-ASCII characters in the description and then saves ...

Re: Full-screen mode: open first file again after the last, etc.
There seems to be something wrong with the thumbnails that are shown in fullscreen mode: Even though formats are excluded in the file filter these excluded formats are shown as thumbnails in fullscreen mode (when moving the mouse to the top). And this seems to have other side effects like the broken ...

To me it looks as if the file filter is not applied properly to the thumbnails shown in fullscreen mode.

This setting sounds very promising. AFAIK, UTF-8 has partial ASCII compatibility, so I wonder why UTF-8 isn't activated by default and why this should break compatibility. The way it is now (UTF-8 disabled ...

Re: Full-screen mode: open first file again after the last, etc.
In Tools > Settings | View | Misc. you'll find a setting "Loop on the file list". When activated, you can navigate endlessly over your list of files - once you reach the last file it will continue with first file and the other way round. This setting affects both image view mode and fullscreen.

Re: descript.ion does not support unicode, Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 28 2022)
Hmm, I thought the big advantage of XnView MP compared to XnView Classic is its Unicode support. For descriptions (files) Unicode should be also supported, I think.

Re: Paste as Selection
I think both use cases should be supported by XnView:

If user hasn't selected an area and then pastes, the contents of the clipboard are pasted in original size and ratio ...

Re: Compare window: Open in editor
In the toolbar above each image there's an "Open" toolbar button. You can open with System viewer (F3) or System editor (F4). In addition you can configure an arbitrary program. There, you can specify "xnviewmp.exe" and from then on open your image in XnView.
