Hello,
I have been using XnView in Windows XP for a long time now and I think it is a great piece of software. Thank you very much Pierre for all your hard work . I am currently in the process to switch from Windows XP to Linux and need some advice from you guys. I have decided to you use Ubuntu 05.10.
Does XnView works in Ubuntu. Since I have a 64-bit AMD processor I would prefer the 64-bit version of Ubuntu but I am not sure if XnView will manage in that environment.
Could someone please explain how to install XnView in 32-bit and 64-bit version of Ubuntu.
Thanks in advance.

XnView works on both 32-bit and 64-bit Linuxes, but on 64-bit Ubuntu you must install the "ia32-libs" package.
btw. Ubuntu is not the best choice for x86_64 hardware because it's not a real biarch system, i.e. you can't install arbitrary 32-bit libraries on it, only those in the "ia32-libs" package (but they should be sufficient for XnView).
