REQUEST: Option for Wheel Zoom

Post by JohnFredC » Fri Oct 15, 2004 2:45 pm

Thanks for all the new features in Version 1.74!

Here's something for the next version wishlist:

On the keyboard/mouse options panel, please add an option to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel.

Behavior should be to center the zoom on the mouse position.

It would be great for this behavior to affect the preview panel as well as the viewer window. I have never understood the need to distinguish functionality between the browser preview and the viewer windows. I would almost never use the viewer if all the viewer functions were available in the browser preview panel.

XNView rules. No matter what new and fancy graphic tools I acquire (and I acquire nearly everything) I still use XNView more than any other graphic tool.

Zoom in/out is possible with ctrl+scroll.

Also zoom with mouse only is possible, but only in viewer (not in fullscreen) and only zoom in - after selecting area and pressing left mouse button (no zoom out, even move to the next image with scroll is not possible)

I suggest - select area with LMB and zoom in with LMB and zoom out with RMB (or reset zoom with LMB) - in fullscreen too.

LMB/RMB = left/right mouse button

BTW - what about zoom with up and down arrows ? (navigation with left and right arrows is already in xnview and up and down arrows are unused)

Yes, of course, but the best solution would be this:
select area with LMB and zoom in with LMB and zoom out with RMB (or reset zoom with LMB) - in fullscreen too
Switching and zooming with mouse only - with one hand - you could also quickly select exact area you want to zoom

(zoom with mouse only is possible, but only in viewer (not in fullscreen) and only zoom in)
